Biography: 

Doug Campbell retired from Edison International (EIX) on January 18, 2016, after almost 19 years with the company.  EIX is the parent company of Southern California Edison, a regulated electric utility, and Edison Mission Group, an independent power company.  Mr. Campbell has over 30 years of experience in the utility and telecommunications industries in marketing, product development and engineering.

Prior to Edison, Mr. Campbell served as a Principal Manager in Edison’s Advanced Technology Organization which monitors, identifies, tests, and evaluates technologies that support SCE efforts to maintain a safe, reliable, affordable, and secure electric grid while empowering the customer with more options and greater control to manage their energy use.  Prior to Advanced Technology, Mr. Campbell was involved in overseeing Edison’s Energy Education Centers and lead development of the Smart Energy Experience, an immersive and interactive exhibit that allows visitors to experience the benefits of the smart grid, energy efficiency and renewable generation.  He was also involved in development and delivery of demand side management and sustainability programs for new construction.

Campbell previously worked for Itron, Inc. where he was responsible for development of automated meter reading solutions for the gas industry, expanding the product line and increasing market penetration.  He has also worked for EF Johnson and Ericsson where he was responsible for development of radio communication solutions for the utility and public safety markets.

Campbell has also previously served as Vice Chair of the Irwindale Chamber of commerce and as a trustee on the board for the Pacific Clinics Foundation.
