Liane Randolph

Commissioner Liane Randolph was appointed to the CPUC by Governor Jerry Brown in January 2015. She formerly served as Deputy Secretary and General Counsel at the California Natural Resources Agency and was appointed to that position by Governor Brown in May 2011.

Commissioner Randolph is an expert in government and administrative law. She was formerly an attorney at the law firm of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. Commissioner Randolph served as Chair of the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) from 2003 to 2007. As Chair of the FPPC, Commissioner Randolph managed a staff of 70 in the implementation and enforcement of California's Political Reform Act. Prior to her service at the FPPC, Commissioner Randolph practiced municipal law and previously served as City Attorney for the Cities of San Leandro and Suisun City on a contract basis. Commissioner Randolph obtained her law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
