Biography: 

Michael Webster is a 31-year veteran of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.  He is currently the Assistant Director of Power System Planning and Development and is responsible for implementing LADWP’s renewable portfolio, 20-year Integrated Resource Planning, and conventional generation and transmission development.  LADWP achieved the goal of 20% renewable energy in 2010 and is currently implementing plans to achieve the requirements of State legislation requiring 25% renewable energy in 2016 and 33% in 2020.  The Integrated Resource Plan lays out one of the most significant power system transformations in the history of LADWP.  Mike has also been responsible for wholesale power and gas transactions and was also part of the core team that established LADWP’s Wholesale Marketing group that successful navigated through the energy crisis.  He has experience in air quality regulation and legislation, project management, and engineering.  Mike has a BSME from UCLA and an MBA from USC.  He enthusiastically roots for both teams but favors his undergraduate team in head to head competitions.  Mike has been married 30 years to Glenda who is an Adjunct College Professor at Pasadena City College.  They have one son in medical school, a son in high school, and daughter in middle school.
