California has implemented strict emissions standards that apply to heavy duty vehicle registrations beginning in 2020. The need to decarbonize the heavy-duty vehicle sector has been meet with new innovation in zero and low-emissions technologies that come with their own new and unique challenges. This panel will examine how the market is responding to emissions mandates in the heavy-duty sector—including renewed interest and investment in hydrogen fuel cells and other technologies—and the implementation challenges that accompany this transformation for fleet transportation.
