Adrian Hightower

Strategic Sustainability Partnerships Program Manager, MWD

Adrian is an experienced manager, educator, and consultant with deep expertise in organizational change management and technical specialization in renewable energy and sustainable water treatment. He currently leads the development of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting, Environmental Justice Policy, and Climate Vulnerability Risk Assessments within his organization.

As a licensed engineer and certified sustainability professional, Adrian advises innovative teams across energy storage, electric vehicle infrastructure, microgrid, and utility sectors. His work spans public sector, academic, and industrial environments, where he has led multidisciplinary teams focused on sustainability and systems transformation.

He has conducted international research and supported entrepreneurial initiatives at the intersection of renewable energy and the water–energy nexus. His contributions include numerous publications, several patents, and invited speaking engagements at national and international conferences.

Adrian holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology.
