Daniel Adler
Executive Director, US Green Bank 50
Daniel Adler is a nationally recognized climate finance and clean energy policy leader with more than two decades of experience advancing public-private investment strategies for renewable energy, climate resilience, and sustainable infrastructure. He currently serves as Executive Director of The U.S. Green Bank 50, a national coalition of state and local green banks focused on accelerating clean energy deployment and expanding equitable access to climate financing across the United States. Prior to leading the U.S. Green Bank 50, Adler served as Deputy Director for Climate Finance at the California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank (IBank) and as Senior Advisor for Climate Finance in California Governor Gavin Newsom’s Office of Business and Economic Development. In these roles, he helped shape California’s green banking and climate finance strategy, including development of the state’s Climate Catalyst Fund, which was designed to mobilize private capital toward wildfire mitigation, forest resilience, clean infrastructure, and other climate solutions. Adler previously held senior leadership positions at the Energy Foundation, where he served as Vice President for Policy overseeing national clean energy initiatives, and at the California Clean Energy Fund (CalCEF), where he led investment and market development strategies focused on renewable energy finance, climate technology innovation, and project finance. Earlier in his career, he worked at the California Public Utilities Commission, contributing to the design and implementation of California’s Renewable Portfolio Standard and broader state climate policy initiatives. Widely regarded as a pioneer in green banking and climate-focused public finance, Adler has served on the boards of organizations including the American Council on Renewable Energy, the Coalition for Green Capital, and Vote Solar. His work has centered on leveraging capital markets, public policy, and institutional partnerships to accelerate the clean energy transition while delivering economic and environmental benefits to underserved communities.
