Daniel Chang

COO, Cool Innovation

Daniel is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader with extensive experience in technology, startups, and global business development. Born in Taiwan, he moved to Japan in 1990 and began his career at Hewlett-Packard Japan and Dai Nippon Printing, where he specialized in global account sales support and served as a supervisor for home appliance recycling law compliance.

In 2006, Daniel joined Proface Taiwan (later merged into Schneider Electric) as a marketing lead, later expanding into global sales and business development in the electronics and semiconductor industries.

In 2012, he transitioned into entrepreneurship, founding three startups and joining another as a core management member, gaining experience in four ventures. His businesses focused on helping Taiwanese companies enter the Japanese market, developing social media platforms, launching an engineer-sharing economy service, and building a Crunchbase-style database for startups and investors.

In 2018, Daniel joined Amazon as a Startup Business Development Manager, where he played a pivotal role in supporting and scaling early-stage companies. Recognized as a top performer for two consecutive years, he also provided strategic business and fundraising advisory to founders, successfully helping a startup raise 3.5 times its initial target funding and valuation.

Since 2023, Daniel has been serving as COO of Cool Innovation, a company focused on reducing food waste, extending freshness, and delivering energy-efficient refrigeration solutions. He leads operations, sales, supply chain management, and fundraising support, driving the company’s mission to build a more sustainable and efficient global food supply chain.
