Gloria Roberts

District 7 Director, CALTRANS

Gloria Roberts is the Caltrans District 7 Director. Gloria leads over 2,500 employees dedicated to serving the eleven million residents in the 98 cities and multiple unincorporated areas of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. District 7 is also home to the Ports of Long Beach, Los Angeles and Hueneme through which forty percent of the nation’s imported goods enter the country. Gloria and her team are responsible for an annual $4 billion capital program that improves and maintains the 42 freeways and state highways in District 7.

Gloria excels in change management and strategic planning. She has been instrumental in driving cultural change to embrace people, engagement, and partnerships. She combines her passion for equity with sound business acumen to implement a holistic approach that advances transportation programs and projects which accelerate the ability of District 7 to become ever more responsive to the needs of communities within Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

District Director Roberts is an Ex-Officio Member on the Boards of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro), the Ventura County Transportation Commission, and Metrolink, as well as a Director-at-Large for WTS LA, a member of the METRANS Advisory Board, and a member of CSU Los Angeles College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology (ECST) Dean’s Advisory Board.

Born and raised in Taiwan, Gloria emigrated to Southern California in the 1980’s. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and her MBA from UC Davis.
