Ignacio Fernandez is an economist and Senior Policy Advisor at The Climate Registry, specializing in climate change mitigation, carbon markets, and environmental economics. With a master’s in environmental studies from UC Santa Cruz and prior roles at Southern California Edison and Chile's Ministry of Energy, he brings deep expertise in emissions trading, MRV systems, and market-based climate policy. Ignacio will explore how California can better quantify and internalize the economic value of ecosystem services, and how policy and market instruments can mobilize investment in resilient natural infrastructure.
