Laura Friedman
Congresswoman, California’s 30th District
Biography:
Friedman proudly represents California’s 30th District, which includes Burbank, Glendale, West Hollywood, and parts of Los Angeles and Pasadena.
Friedman is committed to making meaningful progress on the issues that matter most to her district: making housing more affordable, safeguarding access to clean water, protecting communities from wildfires and other disasters, and creating an economy that works for everyone.
Friedman serves on two key committees: the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
Before joining Congress, Friedman represented the 44th district in the California State Assembly, where she built a reputation as a tireless advocate for the environment, housing, and transportation. During her time in the Assembly, she secured more than $60 million in funding for local projects like the Glendale Riverwalk, Griffith Park safety improvements, and upgrades to the Glendale Central Library. She also led the charge on landmark legislation to improve road safety, invest in zero-emission vehicles, and promote water conservation.
Laura got her start in the private sector working as a film and television producer after receiving her B.A. from the University of Rochester, New York. Building on her years of community service, Laura also served on the Glendale City Council and as the Mayor of Glendale.
