Maryam Zar is a trusted civic leader in Pacific Palisades and Malibu, known for bringing community voices into policy conversations and helping neighborhoods navigate complex challenges. She is the Founder and President of the Palisades Recovery Coalition (PRC), created after the 2025 wildfire to support residents through rebuilding and to coordinate local input on infrastructure, permitting, and long-term resilience. Under her leadership, PRC has become a central hub for community charrettes, interagency collaboration, and practical recovery support. In 2025, Maryam was appointed CEO of the Malibu– Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce (PaliBu Chamber), where she is leading efforts to strengthen the region’s economic recovery, support small businesses, and build partnerships that reflect the shared interests of the coast. Her civic work spans more than a decade of local service, including leading the Pacific Palisades Task Force on Homelessness, serving as President of the Pacific Palisades Community Council, and holding appointments to the Pacific Palisades Design Review Board and Palisades Park Advisory Board. She has also served the City of Los Angeles as a Commissioner on the Commission on the Status of Women. Across all roles, Maryam is known for her collaborative, community-first approach. She continues to work closely with residents, government partners, and local organizations to help Malibu and Pacific Palisades recover with strength, clarity, and long-term vision.
