Robert Hertzberg is a nationally recognized public policy leader, attorney, and clean energy advocate who currently serves as Senior Advisor to Mission Possible Partnership, where he supports initiatives focused on accelerating industrial decarbonization, clean energy deployment, and large-scale climate solutions. Drawing on decades of experience in government, economic policy, and infrastructure development, Hertzberg advises on strategies to advance public-private partnerships and climate-focused economic transformation. Hertzberg previously served in the California State Senate representing the San Fernando Valley, including as Senate Majority Leader from 2018 to 2024. During his legislative tenure, he became known for his leadership on climate policy, renewable energy, water infrastructure, transportation, housing, and economic development. He authored and championed major legislation related to clean energy innovation, climate resilience, circular economy initiatives, and sustainable infrastructure financing. Earlier in his career, Hertzberg served as Speaker of the California State Assembly from 2000 to 2002, where he led efforts to modernize state government, expand technology infrastructure, and advance education and economic reform initiatives. He was widely recognized for his bipartisan approach to governance and his focus on long-term structural policy solutions.In addition to his public service career, Hertzberg is an attorney and entrepreneur with extensive experience advising businesses, civic organizations, and policy coalitions on governance, infrastructure, and economic strategy.
