Robin Wong
Industry Partnerships Lead, Livemore Institute for Fusion Technology
Robin Wong is the Industry Partnerships Lead for the Livermore Institute for Fusion Technology (LIFT), where she focuses on building strategic collaborations between the public and private sectors to accelerate the commercialization of fusion energy technologies. In her role, Wong works with startups, investors, national laboratories, and industry partners to help bridge the gap between breakthrough fusion research and scalable, real-world energy deployment. At LIFT — an initiative established by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory following the laboratory’s historic fusion ignition breakthroughs at the National Ignition Facility — Wong supports the development of partnerships designed to advance fusion science, strengthen supply chains, and accelerate the path toward commercial fusion power plants. Her work centers on expanding the fusion innovation ecosystem and enabling collaborative frameworks that connect government research capabilities with private-sector execution. Wong has represented LIFT at major fusion and energy convenings, including the inaugural California Fusion Energy Convening, where she highlighted LIFT’s mission to centralize LLNL’s scientific capabilities and make them accessible to industry collaborators. She has emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in scaling fusion technologies and positioning California and the United States as global leaders in fusion energy innovation. Through her leadership in industry engagement and ecosystem development, Wong plays a key role in advancing the emerging commercial fusion sector and supporting the long-term deployment of clean, abundant fusion energy technologies.
