Sahar Abbaszadeh
Americas West Region Sustainability Leader, Arup
Sahar leads Arup’s Americas West region sustainability team, overseeing the delivery of sustainability, climate, and resilience projects. Sahar is an industry leader in decarbonization, resilient microgrids, and utility program evaluations. Sahar manages programs for Clean Power Alliance (CPA) and the Tri-county Regional Energy Network (3C-REN) focused on energy efficiency, demand flexibility, and incorporating behind-the-meter generation and storage resources in buildings to operate as responsible grid citizens and resilience hubs.
She is an architect with over 20 years of experience in high-performance building design and construction consulting, and an expert project manager and contributor for Arup’s large and complex sustainability and decarbonization projects. Having led over 30 successful large LEED certification projects, conducted over 200 LEED certification reviews, and served on the technical advisory group for the US Green Building Council, Sahar has advised and managed countless multi-disciplinary teams of owners, architects, energy managers, consultants, and contractors to achieve performance targets through strategy, planning, implementing, monitoring, and verification.
