NEDO Silicon Valley News: "Chairman Furukawa highlighted two demonstration projects NEDO is conducting in California. The "Drive the ARC" EV project was launched in November 2016 and when completed, will feature a network of 50 DC fast chargers linking Monterey with Lake Tahoe...The second project is a utility-scale, redox-flow battery system which can respond quickly to changes in renewable energy sources, can be used for long-term storage capacity and consists of a safe chemistry. The Chairman also expressed interest to collaborating with the state in areas of research like Smart Communities and hydrogen infrastructure. He believes that California and Japan working together can be a model for the world on how to build a clean and sustainable society."
